Day 1 Arrival kolkata

Arrive Kolkata by flight,TBA.After clearing customs and immigration you will be met by a representative of “India Guru – Gainwell” in the arrivals area.A traditional Indian welcome includes tilak and fresh flower garland.You will be transferred to your hotel in an air conditioned vehicle. Check into your hotel on arrival for overnight stay.

Day 2 Kolkata

After breakfast we enjoy a walking tour of Kolkata – India’s most fascinating city.

Kolkata of the Raj tour – Visit the cities noteworthy landmarks including Dalhousie Square, Governors House, Writers Building, Fort William (built in 1706 part of the fort is still used as headquarters of the Eastern Command of the Indian army), Maidan (the lungs of Calcutta), Victorial Memorial Hall, Old and New Howrah bridges (The bridge’s eight lanes of chaotic traffic bear 2 million people each day in rickshaws, cars, scooters, push carts and every other imaginable form of transport.

The afternoon is free to explore Esplanade square where you will find hawker markets, local eateries and handicraft emporiums.

Day 3 Kolkata – Bagdogra – Gangtok

After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Bagdogra. On arrival in Bagdogra you will be met by a representative of “India Guru – Gainwell” and transferred by air conditioned vehice to Gangtok. (5500 Ft/1677 Mts, 130 Kms / 4 Hrs approx). On arrival check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 4 Gangtok

Your day starts with breakfast at the hotel. Next we proceed to Tshangu Lake – situated at the height of 12400Ft / 3780 Mts.
The lake is 43Kms from Gangtok.We drive back to Gangtok for an overnight stay.

Dinner recommendations / booking assistance will be provided by “India Guru – Gainwell”.

Day 5 Gangtok – Pelling

After breakfast we embark on a half day sightseeing tour covering Rumtek Monastery or Jhakri Water Fall along with Droul Chorthen, Research Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handlloom (closed on Sunday).

Later this afternoon you will be driven to Pelling (6100 Ft / 1860 Mts, 116 Kms / 5 Hrs approx).

Check in and Overnight at your hotel in Pelling.

Day 6 Pelling

Pelling is situated at an altitude of 6,800 ft and it offers amazing views of entire mountain ranges including the Koktang, Kumbhakarna, Rathong, Kabru, Dom, Kanchenjunga and others.

A full day’s sightseeing tour includes a visit to Darap Village, Rimbi Water fall & Hydro Project and Khecheopalri Lake (6000 Ft / 1829 Mts ) which is one of the sacred Buddhist mountain lake and it is believed that whatever is wished in front of the lake comes true.
A further drive takes you to Yuksom (the meeting place of three monks) – the first capital of Sikkim. This was the place where the first Chogyal (a ruling dynasty in Sikkim) was crowned.

Return to Pelling for your overnight stay.

Day 7 Pelling – Darjeeling

Breakfast at the hotel. This afternoon we check out and drive to Darjeeling (7380 Ft /2250 Mts /5 Hrs). On arrival check in and Overnight at your Darjeeling hotel.

Day 8 Darjeeling

Nestled among the rolling mountains with the glistening Mt Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling fondly called "Queen of the Hills" provides a perfect gateway for those seeking to be in harmony with nature.
This is the land of the muscatel flavoured Darjeeling tea revered by connoisseurs across the globe. This is the land of the world heritage, Darjeeling Himalayan Railway where the century old miniature steam engine still chugs uphill vying for space with the fast disappearing Land Rovers.

We depart the hotel very early this morning to visit Tiger Hills (8364 Ft / 2550 Mts at around 4 AM) to view the glorious sunrise over Kanchenjunga Peak (subject to weather). On the way back we visit Ghoom Monastry and Batasia Loop.

Return to the hotel for breakfast. We then proceed for a half day sightseeing tour, visiting the Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, Padmaia Naidu Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Tenzing & Gompu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self – Help Center (Closed on Sunday ) & a Tea Estate to taste the world famous Darjeeling Tea.

Overnight at Hotel.

Day 9 Darjeeling –Bagdogra-Kolkata

An early transfer to the airport to board your flight to Kolkata. On arrival at Kolkata airport please transfer to the International airport to check in for your flight for onward journey .
